Piraeus traffic can be heavy in the morning, especially in summer. For cruise departures, we recommend leaving Athens at least 90 minutes before your embarkation time. Tell us your check-in deadline when you book and we'll plan the pickup accordingly.

Piraeus is the largest port in Greece and one of the busiest passenger ports in Europe, handling millions of cruise passengers and ferry travelers every year. It serves as the main embarkation and disembarkation point for cruises in the Eastern Mediterranean, as well as the primary hub for ferry connections to the Greek islands, the Cyclades, Dodecanese, Crete, the Saronic Islands, and beyond.
The port of Piraeus is approximately 12 km southwest of central Athens. By private van, the journey takes 30–45 minutes depending on traffic, with heavier conditions in the morning rush hour and during peak summer months. Public transport options exist (Metro Line 1 stops at Piraeus station), but they are impractical for travelers with cruise-sized luggage and offer no flexibility around timing or terminal location.

The main cruise terminal at Piraeus is located along Megalou Alexandrou Avenue, adjacent to the main port entrance. It handles the majority of large cruise lines including MSC, Costa, Royal Caribbean, Celebrity Cruises, and Norwegian. A second area serves smaller vessels and private charters. When booking your transfer, provide us with your cruise line and vessel name and we will confirm the correct drop-off point.
Ferry departures at Piraeus are organized across a series of numbered gates, E1 through E12, spread along the port's main quay. Different ferry companies and island routes operate from different gates, and the layout is not always intuitive for first-time visitors. We know the port well enough to drop you at the correct gate with time to spare, regardless of which island or which company you're traveling with.
For arrivals, your driver will be at the terminal exit when your vessel docks, holding a sign with your name. We track vessel arrivals in real time, if your ship or ferry is delayed, we adjust and wait. There is no extra charge for delays outside your control. Once you clear the terminal, your van is waiting and the transfer to your Athens hotel or any other address begins immediately.
Our pricing is per vehicle, not per person. Whether you're traveling alone or as a group of eight, the rate is the same, which makes the service particularly good value for families and groups compared to booking multiple taxis. Fuel, tolls, and taxes are all included. What you're quoted is what you pay, with no meter running and no surprise charges at the end.
