The Athens Riviera is a 70 km stretch of coastline running south from Faliro to Cape Sounio along the western edge of the Attic peninsula. It encompasses some of the most sought-after addresses in Greece, luxury hotels, private beach clubs, Michelin-starred restaurants, yacht marinas, and kilometres of organized and wild beaches, all within an hour of the city center.
The main route from Athens to the Riviera follows the coastal road south through Faliro, Glyfada, Voula, Vouliagmeni, and beyond. The drive is genuinely scenic, particularly once you pass Vouliagmeni, where the road clings to the hillside above the sea. In light traffic, Glyfada is 20 minutes from the city center; Vouliagmeni around 35; Varkiza 45. In summer weekend traffic, add 15–30 minutes to each.
Public transport reaches Glyfada but becomes impractical for destinations further south, and is essentially useless for anyone returning late from a beach club or restaurant. A private van removes the uncertainty entirely, flat rate, agreed in advance, available at any hour.

For a family of four or a group of friends, this typically works out cheaper than booking two taxis, and considerably more comfortable.
